Pupils who are in need of support due to difficulties with speech and language and communication skills can be assessed by a Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) after consultation with parents and a class teacher. The SENDCo will then complete a request for therapist’s input. A report will be sent to the school and parents with recommendations and if needed a SALT programme to be carried out in school which will be monitored and reviewed as appropriate.

If you have any concerns about your pre-school child’s speech and language skills and would like to speak to a Speech and Language Therapist at the Midhurst or Petworth or Chichester Children & Family Centres about this, please feel free to “drop-in” to any of the sessions listed here. The therapist will listen to your concerns, carry out an informal assessment and offer some advice and suggestions to help you support your child.
