‘Every Child and Young Person in the Rother Valley Matters’
The paediatric Occupational Therapy service aims to help children achieve or maintain their maximum level of independence and to develop practical life skills at home and school. The Occupational Therapy (OT) service is able to help and support children who have movement or sensory difficulties that impact on their functional and independence skills.
Occupational Therapy advice can be sought for sensory and motor skill difficulties (eg handwriting, scissor skills, hand/eye co-ordination, hypo mobility or issues with sounds or the feel of certain materials) through school or health care professionals. An OT assessment may be carried out at home and/or in school, after which a report will be sent which may include recommendations and a programme to be followed at home and/or at school which will be monitored and reviewed.
Occupational Therapy advice usually available via SENDCo or GP
