‘Every Child and Young Person in the Rother Valley Matters’

West Sussex Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is a specialist team working across the County. Through the application of psychology, they aim to promote the educational, social and emotional development of all children and young people in the community. Advice from the Educational Psychologist (EP) can be sought through Autumn Planning Meeting and via telephone consultations that can be booked online and accessed via the SENDCo. The EP can offer advice and training on whole school issues and also for individuals as well as groups of children. If advice is sought for an individual pupil, following parental permission, the discussion with the EP is initially via the phone consultation. After this advice has been implemented and monitored it may be necessary to request further involvement from the EP to observe and assess the needs of the pupil within the school setting. Following this the EP will meet with the parents and staff to decide on the strategies and programmes needed.
