‘Every Child and Young Person in the Rother Valley Matters’
Have a look at this page for a helpful summary of Special Needs and Disabilities Support available in schools.
If you have concerns about your child's educational needs, you should always try to talk to your child’s class teacher first. You can contact the class teacher or the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo), or failing this, the Head Teacher, via the school office.
You can find out about the Local Offer on this page, where you can also find links to the West Sussex County Council Local Offer, the Rother Valley Inclusion Hub Local Offer and Local Offers for each school in the Rother Valley Inclusion Hub.
The Rother Valley Inclusion Hub is a collaborative network of small rural schools and settings which aims to support parents who have children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to have successful placements in mainstream settings.
Through this website the Rother Valley Inclusion Hub aims to signpost providers, children and their families living in the Rother Valley to sources of further information.
The Rother Valley Inclusion Hub has appointed Julie Burnett-Kirk as a part time Co-ordinator from January 2015. Julie has an extensive background in education, including special educational needs and working with parents. She will be helping to shape the work of the hub in the next few months and details of how she can be contacted can be found here.
